What is Premature Ejaculation?

Premature ejaculation (PE) is a common sexual health condition in which a person ejaculates during sexual engagement sooner than they would like to, usually before or soon after penetration. Both spouses may experience emotional discomfort as a result of this illness, which can damage relationships and self-esteem. Lack of control over ejaculation timing, which happens within a minute or less of penetration, is a common characteristic of PE. It can be caused by a number of things, such as hormone abnormalities, anxiety, or psychological stress. Treatment alternatives to improve control and increase sexual satisfaction include behavioral strategies, topical anesthetics, and medicines.
